Definitions

Sometimes I might use words or abbreviations that some people don’t necessarily understand, and that’s where this list comes in. If there is something you need me to define, just ask and I will.

Disability

Disability:

A physical and/or mental impairment that has long-term affects an individuals ability to complete normal day-to-day activities.

Chronic Illness:

A long-term condition, typically lasting longer than 3 months, with long-term/long-lasting negative effects on a person’s health.

Misc./Unknown:

Used for books where I do not know the exact disability representation present in the book but can describe it and/or know that it does exist.

About the Books

Dual POV:

Or, Dual Point-Of-View; this story is told from the perspective of two characters.

Multiple POV:

Or, Multiple Point-Of-View; this story is told from the perspective of more than two characters.

Multi-Genre:

This story has multiple genres. I tend to use this for short story anthologies where the genres are ambiguous.

Multi/Multiple Setting:

This story has multiple settings. I tend to use this for short story anthologies, but have used it for others.

About the Characters

MC:

Main Character; the character(s) that the story follows.

SC:

Side Character; a character who plays a significant role within the narrative, but whom the story does not revolve around.

LI:

Love Interest; The character positioned to be the main character’s romantic interest.

Gender

M:

A male identifying character.

F:

A female identifying character.

NB:

A non-binary identifying character.

GNC:

This character is gender-non-conforming.

Sexuality

x/x:

The romantic pairing of two or more characters. Pairings in the archive include: m/m, f/f, m/nb, f/nb, nb/nb etc. etc.

MGA:

A character who is attracted to multiple genders. I tend to use this if I can’t find the sexuality of the characters or it is ambiguous/unstated, but I know that they are attracted to multiple genders.
